The Kyoto Distillery Company was established by gin devotees, David Croll and Marcin Miller, as a division of Number One Drinks Company. It is the Japan’s first dedicated artisanal gin distillery.
They use a high-quality rice spirit and local botanicals including yuzu, hinoki, sansho pepper and gyokuro tea, all sourced in season from producers they know and respect. They spent time refining their list of botanicals from 40 to final formula of 11, ensuring that the gin speaks of its home in Kyoto.
As clear as the air in the sacred mountains of Kyoto. A fresh aroma of yuzu, and a thread ofsansho that lingers like a morning mist in a bamboo forest. The juniper complements and showcases the Japanese botanicals.
Ginger root gives a slightly warming, spicy finish.
