When Dom Pierre Pérignon took over as cellar master at the Benedictine Abbey of Hautvillers in 1668, his avowed goal was “to make the best wine in the world”. Over 47 years he innovated and created some of the fundamental rules of “method champenoise”.

Dom Pérignon continues to perpetuate its legendary founder’s visionary approach: the constant reinvention of the exceptional. Today, this vision of true luxury is in the hands of the Chef de Cave – whose job is akin to that of an orchestra conductor. The miracle wrought by the assemblage, the fine-tuning, the risk-taking, intuition and experience all lead to the ultimate reward: the inspired creation of a vintage. Because creating the exceptional means refusing any compromise. The only Dom Pérignon champagne is a Dom Pérignon vintage.

The unique personality of Dom Pérignon champagne is born from this creative commitment: the always unexpected, paradoxical tension among the distinctive qualities of a year and the timeless spirit of Dom Pérignon.
